OUR PROJECTS

Conservation South Luangwa

CSL (Conservation South Luangwa) is an awarded non-profit organisation committed to the conservation and preservation of Zambia’s wildlife. CSL believes that no organisation can solve this challenge alone and that we must work in partnership.

Based in the heart of the community and only 5 minutes away from the national park, CSL works in close partnership with the Department of National Parks and Wildlife. CSL consciously recruits and trains Zambians. This is vital to ensure sustainability and local ownership. It is almost 100% Zambian run.

Its projects include anti-poaching patrols, de-snaring, daily aerial surveillance and law enforcement support. CSL use detection dogs to create road blocks and border checks. They are at the frontline of wildlife rescue with a dedicated wildlife vet. Their human wildlife mitigation initiatives aim to help local communities and wildlife to live in harmony with each other.

OUR PROJECTS

Commit to Clean Water

Many of us take access to safe, clean drinking water for granted. Yet, in the area surrounding South Luangwa National Park, communities are growing rapidly and many still have no convenient access to safe, clean water.

We are committed to sustainable community and wildlife friendly development to ensure both people and wildlife survive and thrive.

Access to clean water is crucial for health and wellbeing. It also liberates women and children who no longer have to spend their days making the dangerous trek to collect water.

We drill boreholes in local communities. Each borehole provides safe clean drinking water to approximately 300 people every day. To date, we have drilled 85 boreholes helping at least 25,000 people per day.
